Catch Me If You Can

Taken at Abbey Gardens in Bury St. Edmunds.

This girl was a total gem to work with, she's definitely a model in the makings.

I really need to update this more often. So..

Journal Entry: Mon Nov 9, 2009, 2:28 PM

My newest photo's are from a bit of spontaneously-arranged gig at an Adam Hills show in Norwich. I got a pretty funny picture of Adam being a rockstar on the first night, and the boys in the band loved it and so I offered to take some for them as well the next night - I'll explain why I ended up going there two nights in a row further down; for now, I'll stick to summarising.

Oh, and how could I forgot? The band are called Kunk, and they fucking rock. Check them out. You can buy their stuff on iTunes, or from their website ([link]).

They've also been lovely enough to put my photo's up on their website, and Adam's put our picture of him up on his blog. I think that once he comes back to the UK, I'll be going to see him as much as I possibly can. After three shows of this tour, I'm hooked. I think it's that Australian charm - him and Tim Minchin both have me laughing in seconds.

Anyway. Right ..Two shows in a row may seem slightly obsessive, I know. But I had good reason. I was only planning on going to the first show, but during the show we got chatting to Adam, and he got chatting to these two guys in the audience that are in a band (Kunk), and asked what they were doing the next night. Turned out they were free - hurrah! So after a bit of arranging during a slightly-extended interval, Adam told the guys to turn up at 4 for a soundcheck, and they'd start at 6. They were up for it, and so was the selection of the audience that could get back again the next night. That included me and Titch. Well, sort of. We spent the next morning trying to find a lift back up there, and decided to get the train up there.

On the way up, there was a rather attractive guy sat opposite me who kept looking over and so I was hoping he'd come and say hi. He didn't. He just started staring like a rabbit caught in headlights, looking slightly psychotic. That was that. [/Attraction].

So. We got up to the theatre just in time, and was having a chat with a couple of girls we'd met the night before, when someone started waving at me from the bar. Hello, Mr Hills. He recognised me. What a lovely, lovely guy. I'm going to miss seeing his shows and chatting with him afterwards. Anyway, the band started setting up so I took position at the front with my camera, and started snapping.

Kunk were challenged the night before as well, to make "I've Got A Brand New Combine Harvester" into an alternative rock song, which they had about an hour or so to arrange during sound check. Cue three minutes of giggling, singing the chorus repeatedly, and one chord over & over again. It was, however, still hilarious and everybody loved it.

I have just realised how long this blog is now.

But basically. I'd just like to say. Adam Hills is a bloody hilarious comedian, and a genuinely lovely guy. And Kunk are a bloody brilliant band, so go to their website and check them out, right now!

Oh, and I'd like to thank my mummy :) She bought the tickets for the first show, and managed to blag us tickets to the (sold out!) second show - god knows how, but she's magic like that.

And also, my best friend in the entire world has just bought tickets for Pink next year. Best christmas present EVER. I love him (:
